Defending the Public

Fight the man a little more every day!

About April 12, 2007

Choose one:

  • I was a prominent abolitionist, the sixth Chief Justice of the United States, Treasury Secretary, senator from and governor of Ohio; but, please, don’t forget how I got my start: providing free legal services to escaped slaves and people working the underground railroad – a true public defender back in the 1830s.
  • I am a newly-minted attorney with the good fortune to have immediately received a job at a public defender.

Apart from PD work, I love to play tennis, hike, and play the piano.
